Do You have a Paul in Your Life?
The journal which I'm devouring now was given to me by three long time friends on November 23, 2015, two months after my stroke.
The cover of this hot pink journal has this verse: From the fullness of His grace we have all received one blessing after another. John 1:16
On the inside cover I wrote Ephesians 3:14-21 (MSG)
My response is to get down on my knees before the Father, this magnificent Father, who parcels out all heaven and earth, and I ask Him that with both feet planted on love, you’ll be able to take in with all followers of Jesus the extravagant dimensions of Christ’s love. Reach out and experience the breadth! Test its length! Plumb the depths! Rise to the heights! Live full lives, full in the fullness of God. God can do anything you know and more than you ever could imagine or guess, or request in your wildest dreams! He does it not by pushing us around, but by working with us, His Spirit deeply and gently within us.
Do you have a friend, mentor, encourager like Paul in your life? A person who prayes for God to bestow extraordinary spiritual blessings upon you. In the midst of his teaching, Paul breaks out into this prayer for the believers in Ephesus.
There is so much I could say about this prayer, but instead, go back, read it again and take it apart bit by bit.
Get on your knees.
Say "I love You, Magnificent Father
Take in the extravagant dimensions of Christ's love.
Believe you can live a full life in the fullness of God who can do more than you can imagine.
Welcome the workings of the Holy Spirit into today!
HA! Here comes my cheerleader spirit for Jesus..."Get fired up for victory!"
Who is God calling you to encourage today? I will be that kind of friend and ask in the power of Jesus' name for each person who reads this passage today to experience all of this!
