This grandson had me praying for is first loose tooth to come out! I was sitting in an office waiting room and refused to be tempted to pull out my phone during the wait when I could just as easily use the time to pray.  My first prayer drifted to the salvation for every member of the staff in that office. Then the big  crazy prayer came.  "God I pray that all around the world you would mess up the airwaves and anyone listening to a radio would have the stations mysteriously redirected to a Christian station and all those people would hear the Gospel and their hearts be stirred by a Christian song that makes them believe!" In Jesus' Name! When I left I forgot to turn on my car radio to see if it would happen!  We had visitors on our floats and our 4 year old granddaughter wanted to join their fun! It was a go away with Jesus to the porch day.  The ceiling fan thrust out a delightful breeze, but there was a devil dart.  Construction had started up somewhere close by in the cove and the machinery noise was none stop.  Are you kidding me? I had a choice.  Go back inside or tune out the turmoil with my AirPods and put on the praise, before I made a choice then it was noon!  Lunch break! The equipment turned off and once again I only heard the birds. Our world is full of distractions.  We must choose what we will focus upon. Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.  Our grandson said, "Look, we are an octopus!" Yesterday we addressed grumbling. Grumbling is a sin that God does not want present in our lives. Paul says to the Philippians-  Do everything without complaining or arguing . Philippians 2:14 How do we do that? Paul told the Corinthians... That is why, for Christ's sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong . 2 Corinthians 12:10 Remembering "It's all about Jesus" really helps with our perspective in life.  Choose to see God's purpose, his presence and his power even if it is not something you asked for. Remember Romans 8:28 and Philippians 1:12 What has happened to me has really served to advance the gospel.   Like the Hokey Pokey, "That's what it's all about." No grumbling from me as I meet our newest granddaughter for the first time. " Grumbling is the hum of the fallen human heart."  Scott Hubbard Ugh, that quote popped up on the big screen at church and penetrated my heart. Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me and lead me in the way everlasting.  Psalms 139:23-24 If we were playing Family Feud and the question was "What is the number one grumbling phrase in the family?  I think the answer would be "How much longer?" from the mouths of children in a car.  We weren't even in the car yet and one of the children asked me that question recently. Moses had to tolerate and then cry out to God on behalf of the grumbling Israelites. Being saved in the Red Sea didn't heal the issue of their grumbling hearts. Hubbard states, "Grumbling does not spout forth from us because of a problem  out there , but because of a problem  in here....

    What are you doing? As you begin your day, so goes your day. Ha! Last week five grands spent the night and all awakened between 6-7AM. They are in a loft up above our bedroom and youtube is playing something with drums beating and they are singing along and then laughing incessantly. Hmm, maybe I should climb the ladder and check it out. Nope, first I will grab my quiet time with the Lord before flipping pancakes. Satisfy us in the morning with your loving kindness, that we may rejoice and be glad all our days. -Psalm 90:14 My husband was willing to hold down the baby sitting fort and allow me to go alone to the grocery store. I chose to listen to praise on the way and I was so blessed by this song.  Sometimes all we can do is offer up a " Hallelujah."  It is a wonderful word. Last spring, I experienced the verbal bashing of a grandchild by an adult in a public place. Yes, Mama Boo Bear stood up to this person with a calm response, but I have no desire to go back into that facility.  My sweet husband ran an errand for me a while back and received an attack on my character. The owner told him I had no appreciation for small businesses, because I had declined services after receiving a quote.  Nope, it was a service for church and we hadn't budgeted that  amount. Hmm, like either of us want to go back in there and I even have a $35 store credit. It's as if the COVID affect won't die down. The joy is missing and it's not even a presidential election year. Jesus please come back before we go through that. My mind flashed back with great compassion to dear friends in ministry who have endured horrible false accusations and gossip spreaders in a situation that just won't seem to be laid to rest.  Then I heard the whisper..."Why do...
