Cleaning Up Our Acts

April 7

Our cars function better when the oil is changed, the silver shines brighter when polished, my glasses are much more efficient when the smudges are removed, getting the grit out of the sink faucet makes a world of difference and Moses is much more pleasant to be around when he is cleaned up from head to tail!

Cleaning ourselves up on the outside is done much more frequently, than an interior scrubbing. God's Word is clear about the needed process and the refreshment which comes when we clean up our acts.

1 John 1:9
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

Proverbs 28:13
He who conceals his sins does not prosper, but whoever confesses and renounces them finds mercy.

Luke 15:10
In the same way, I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.

Acts 3:19
Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord.
