Celebrate

April 29
Today we celebrate my earthly Father's 90th birthday! He still lives alone, has a vibrant mind, twinkling eyes and a charming smile which captivates anyone he encounters!

The definition of celebrate which I have zoned into today is:to honor especially by solemn ceremonies or by refraining from ordinary

I tend to celebrate more with "refraining from the ordinary". Intuition tells me King David had that tendency as well when he celebrated his love for the Lord!

Bravo, God, Bravo! Everyone join in the great shout: Encore! In awe before the beauty, in awe before the might. Bring gifts and celebrate, Bow before the beauty of God, Then to your knees—everyone worship! Psalm 96:7-9 (The Message)

Hallelujah! Sing to God a brand-new song, praise him in the company of all who love him. Let all Israel celebrate their Sovereign Creator, Zion's children exult in their King. Let them praise his name in dance; strike up the band and make great music! And why? Because God delights in his people, festoons plain folk with salvation garlands! Psalm 149:1

My April and early May calendars are chocked full of birthday celebrations, so I counted back nine months out of curiosity. Ah, summer vacations! Great time to make babies. As we get out the streamers, send out the card and light the candles to celebrate the lives of family and friends, may we never forget to praise the One who created each of them. May our enthusiasm and love for the Lord be evident to all. The fact He lives and loves so unconditionally is reason to celebrate each day in extraordinary ways.

I know that my Redeemer lives, and that in the end he will stand upon the earth. Job 19:25
