He loves you and me.

February 23
My heart is so heavy, the prayer list so long with burdens and needs beyond any load I've ever carried to lay before the Lord. A numbness of disbelief wants to set in...the kind of feeling where you need to splash cold water in your face to bring you out of the shock of it all. Before opening my eyes or praising the Lord, I started into the list...then I stopped and simply said, "Lord, I love you, would you like to crawl in this bed and sit beside me and just hold hands."
The reply....
"Oh, dear friend, my heart is so heavy, the needs of my children and those who are lost is so long."
I sat up and with compassion I switched to the Lord's perspective and thought about how He aches for the lost to be found and He longs to have his children home, hating to see them suffer. He knows our earthly journey is short lived compared with eternity.

Oh how He loves you and me!

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you, who through faith are shielded by God's power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time. In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith-of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire-may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed. Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, for you are receiving the end result of your faith, the salvation of you souls. 1 Peter 1:3-9
