The Things No One Can Take Away
Maybe some people don't open themselves up to love, because they know it hurts too much when you lose it. Adrain Rogers, when alive, wrote a devotional series called Love Worth Finding. While his reference is to Jesus, it relates to the way I am feeling at this time of grief. A young police officer was questioning me right after Daddy died; a procedure necessary when there is a death at home. He was so kind and sympathetic, as he lost his grandfather last week. I struggled through tears in the interview and at one point said, "I"m sorry, I've loved this man for 56 years." Isn't that a neat thought. To have had a father's love every moment you were on earth with him! That's still possible. Check out the message I received Tuesday by email. Praise God for the things no one can take away!
The Comfort of the Holy Spirit by Adrian Rogers
“But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in My name, He shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.” - John 14:26
"Jesus called the Holy Spirit “the Comforter.”
Whenever peace enters your heart in the midst of grief...
Whenever joy enters your heart in the midst of a trial...
Whenever you see evidence of His life in yours…
Whenever joy enters your heart in the midst of a trial...
Whenever you see evidence of His life in yours…
…..you can be sure the Holy Spirit is flowing through your life.
Can He forget you? Never. The seal of the Holy Spirit, the Comforter, is on your life if you are His child. Whenever you pass through a room or walk through a crowd, His oil of gladness sends a sweet aroma of Christ through the air!"
