Galloping Through Galatians #2
There are enough nuggets in these next few books of Galatians to fill up your nugget basket for a lifetime.
So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith. Galatians 3:26
…for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. Galatians 3:27
Have you never identified with Christ through baptism? Free dunking at Shiloh. The water is warming up. Come celebrate your faith by a baptism this summer.
So you are no longer a slave, but God's child; and since you are his child, God has made you an heir.
Galatians 4:7
How is it you are turning back to those weak miserable forces? Do you wish to be enslaved by them all over again? Galatians 4:9 Whew, does this one speak volumes to you? It does me. Without ongoing discipleship and seeking, we will go back to the pit.
It is for freedom Christ has set us free. Galatians 5:1
The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love. Galatians 5:6
A little yeast works through a while batch of dough. Galatians 5:9
We can make a mess of a matter with a tiny pinch of madness.
Serve one another humbly in love. Galatians 5:13 God put that in there particularly for mothers/grandmothers! Wait! For anyone in the service business.
The next few verses would work well posted in our homes as reminders of life style choices (deeds of the flesh) to avoid and those with which we should be adorned.
Now the deeds of the flesh are evident, which are:
immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, outburst of anger, disputes, dissensions, factions. envying, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these, of which I forewarn you, just as I have forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. Now those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. Galatians 5:19-24
For some of us, we have to crucify fleshly deeds every time they tempt us.
Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other. Galatians 5:26
