Make "Em Laugh

Laughter is good for the soul.

April
Our last small group study was on laughter, joy and happiness.  What a joy it was to gather each week and laugh together. We watched clips from Tim Hawkins and Jeanne Robertson, which had us chuckling, but taking turns reading church bulletin bloopers out loud made our bellies hurt we laughed so hard.

1) Do to the pastor's illness, Wednesday's healing services will be discontinued until further notice.
2) Bertha Belch, a missionary from Africa, will be speaking tonight at Calvary Methodist.  Come
hear Bertha Belch all the way from Africa.
3) The Rev. Merriwether spoke briefly, much to the delight of the audience.
4) The pastor will preach his farewell message, after which the choir will sing, "Break Forth Into Joy"
5)  Barbara remains in the hospital and needs blood donors for more transfusions. She is also having
trouble sleeping and requests tapes of Pastor Nelson's sermons.
6)  Irving Benson and Jessie Carter were married on October 24 in the church. So ends a friendship
that began in their school days.
7)  Weight Watchers will meet at 7PM. Please use the large double doors at the side entrance.
8)  The 1991 Spring Council Retreat will be hell May 10 and 11.
9)  The choir invites any member of the congregation who enjoys sinning to join the choir.
10) Tuesday at 4PM there will be an ice cream social. All ladies giving milk will please come early.

It's amazing the difference a simple word can make.  Just like it's amazing the difference one solitary life made when He came to earth as a baby to die for the sins of the world.  We can laugh, smile, and radiate joy, because we know the best is yet to come because of the gift we have received.
His name is Jesus!

"You never saw him, yet you love him.
You still don't see him, yet you trust him-with laughter and singing.
Because you kept on believing, you'll get what you're looking forward to:
total salvation."
1 Peter 1:8-9
