To Be...Able to Hold Onto What Is Good
February 8
"It's not up to you to be the god of your circumstances. It is for you to give thanks to the One who is greater than any circumstance you will ever face." She Reads Truth Instagram Post
Oh dear friends, I needed to hear that today. Give thanks and give it up to the One who is able!
Y'all know I love me some 1 Thessalonians Chapter 5.
Hold onto what is good!
"Be cheerful no matter what; pray all the time; thank God no matter what happens. This is the way God wants you who belong to Christ Jesus to live. Don't suppress the Spirit, and don't stifle those who have a word from the Master. On the other hand, don't be gullible. Check out everything, and keep only what's good. Throw out anything tainted with evil. May God himself, the God who makes everything holy and whole, make you holy and whole, put you together-spirit, soul, and body-and keep you fit for the coming of our Master, Jesus Christ. The One who called you is completely dependable. If he said it, he'll do it! 1 Thessalonians 5:16-24
That reminds me of a banner my husband had made, which hung in our kitchen/family room in Roanoke... "God said it, we believe it, that settles it!"
May you each hold onto Jesus today...for he is good, good, good and God!

The Biblegateway love verse for today.
"You have heard that it was said, 'Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous." Matthew 5:43-45
