To Be...Known
We look forward to knowing another grandson. His arrival is set for the end of July.
Answering my phone with a simple "Hello", a sweet lady's voice said, "Ha! She doesn't know who this is! This is Ethel!"
My reply, "Ethel, this is Mrs. Andrews." "This isn't Tina? Oh, I'm sorry," and she hung up.
God knows every hair on our head.
"But the very hairs on your head are all numbered." Matthew 10:30
How well do we know Him?
Have you ever gone back to a school reunion? Many people are hesitant because they didn't take the time to really get to know other students or haven't kept in touch with them. While they are invited back, there could be an aloofness to the affair due to lack of deep relationships.
When we reach heaven, some of us will know the Lord better than others because of our intentionality in getting to know Him.
King David was a man's man. A king, a warrior, yet a man whose deepest desire was to behold the beauty and pleasantness of the Lord. The only thing that really mattered was intimate fellowship with his God. He says, "That will I seek after." He set before himself the task of seeking to know God better. He's known as a man after God's own heart.
At the final judgement there will be those with loads of Bible knowledge who will strut up to God with grand expectancy, but they may hear...
"I never knew you. Get away from me, you who break God's laws." Matthew 7:23
What is it you want to know about God today? Sneak away to a quiet place and ask Him!
