To Be...Living Like Abigail #3
Sorry I got behind and forgot to post yesterday. It's there now.

In 1 Samuel 25 we see David lose control over Nabal's selfishness, for David and his men had served Nabal and offered protection without pay. David loses control and is ready to kill Nabal and all his men.
"Father, give me grace to be slow to anger and glorify you in my response." Nancy D. Wolgemuth
"The Lord will keep you from all evil, He will keep your life. The Lord will keep your going out and your coming in from this time forth and forevermore." Psalm 121:7-8
Nabal had a treasure....a wife who feared the Lord and knew David's heart. This woman got wind of what was happening and "didn't cower in fear" but "she took action." She knew "when to speak and when not to speak and to whom to speak."
She exhibited these attributes: "courage, humility, composure, respect, control, clarity, dignity, and sincerity." All these are characteristics of Christ. Let's pray right now for those qualities to be evident in our own lives.
This wise woman defused a bomb by approaching David in the ways mentioned above and challenged him to look to his God. She affirmed and reminded him he was a man who is part of God's protection and plan.
Remember, "God will deal with the Nabals in this world."
"Be assured, an evil person will not go unpunished, but the offspring of the righteous will be delivered." Proverbs 11:21
