Stuck

Are you stuck in a rut? Are the wheels of your brain spinning and you seem to be going nowhere and
anxiety is setting in?

"...do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with
thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God."
Philippians 4:6

Max Lucado writes in his study called Anxious for Nothing,

"The word anxiety comes from a Latin root that means 'to choke' or 'to squeeze.' Its strong grip interrupts your sleep, chokes your energy, and harms your overall well-being. Anxiety is a close cousin to fear, but the two are not twins. Fear sees a threat, while anxiety imagines one.

Anxiety is a meteor shower of what ifs. A trepidation. A suspicion. An apprehension. It's living life in a minor key with major concerns. You're part Chicken Little and part Eeyore. The sky is falling, and it's falling disproportionately on you."

Sometimes we just need a Jesus day!  A time to get alone and open God's Word and praise Him.  A time for sincere repentance in regards to allowing anxiety to take root. A time of intentionality where we surrender our ways and let God's power and love pour over us and redirect our path.

Lucado gives this acronym for the word calm. It's a great escape plan for when life has us stuck in an unhealthy rut and frustration is starting to squeeze God's peace from us.

Celebrate God's goodness
Ask God for help
Leave your concerns with God
Meditate on good things

Truth be told, I'm up in the middle of the night fretting over a few things and need this message.
