Abiding
Flashing back to a Ruth Simons definition of the word abide "to stand your ground, persevere, stay in close or cling tightly" how can you cultivate active abiding?
I selected two categories in which I long to actively abide under God's control and then applied these scriptures.
Thoughts
You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you. Isaiah 26:3
And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:7
Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. Romans 12:2
Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. Colossians 3:2
Therefore, preparing your minds for action, and being sober-minded, set your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ. 1 Peter 1:13
Friendship
Complete my joy by being of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind. Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Philippians 2:2-3
Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Romans 12:10
Let no one seek his own good, but the good of his neighbor. 1 Corinthians 10:24
Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends. John 15:13
Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you. Ephesians 4:32
