Disguised
These two Ninja Turtles are having a blast in this beautiful fall weather!
Our sons still enjoy dressing up in costumes year round and the grandchildren have followed suit. Okay, true confession my husband I have I been known to don some disguises as well, even at the dermatologist office.
Satan is a master of disguise. Remember Eve's encounter with the serpent? In
2 Corinthians chapter 11 Paul is warning believers concerning false teachers. In verses 3-4; 13-14 he says, "But I am afraid that as the serpent deceived Eve by his cunning, your thoughts will be led astray from a sincere and pure devotion to Christ. If someone comes and proclaims another Jesus than the one we proclaimed, or if you receive a different spirit from the one you received, or if you accept a different gospel from the one you accepted, you put up with it readily enough....For such men are false apostles, deceitful workmen, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light."
If we do not want to be deceived we must know truth. To know truth we must know God's Word and feed upon it daily. May we crave what is good. May we crave the good news of the gospel and be filled with discernment.
Philippians 1:9-11 contains a perfect prayer for discernment...
And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ—to the glory and praise of God.
