So Long Farewell Until We Meet Again
I'm laughing out loud! My husband always falls asleep before I do, because he is usually up by 3 AM and has put in an 18-19 hour day. Just before he goes into a deep sleep he lifts his head, with his eyes still closed, and gives me a kiss. The other night I said, "So long, farewell, until we meet again." Then I chuckled.
That really covers all the bases. If we see each other in the morning, hallelujah, if not, we WILL see one another in heaven, which is also a big hallelujah!
But we do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, about those who are asleep, that you may not grieve as others do who have no hope. For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep. For this we declare to you by a word from the Lord, that we who are alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord. ...1 Thessalonians 4:13-18
My heart is aching for all the lives affected by the war that has been inflicted upon Israel. All the innocent lives on both sides being taken. My prayers have sounded like this the past few days. God raise up Kings like David and leaders like Joshua, who look to you, throughout the world. Men and women who follow God and trust in His plans even when they do not make sense to the human mind. God fight for Your people as You have in the past. May today be the day that any who do not know You, turn to Jesus and fare well.
