The Word

Our six Christmas 1989.

During the Christmas season we tend to look ahead to all the things we need to get done. The gifts, the decorations, the cards, the food, the return of Jesus.
This year, I'm committing to a time of looking back. Back on the incredible gift of why and how Jesus came to earth and back on sweet memories of time shared with our children.
Like the shepherds and wise men long ago, I've dedicated this December to be a season of seeking. No matter the sacrifice, I will find time to be still and seek the Lord.
John 1:14 is a great way to start the process.
And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.  John 1:14
I keep reading this verse over and over again looking at the action words.                            The Word became flesh.                                                                                                                 The Word dwelt among man.                                                                                                                     Man saw his glory. the only Son of God, who is full of grace and truth.
God had a plan and a purpose and it still prevails today!
I really like words, so I find it fitting that "The Word" is one of the names of Jesus.
Jennifer Kennedy Dean wrote, "A word is the expression and communication of a thought. Jesus embodied all of the thoughts of God. He is every thought God has ever had, revealed in high-definition visual."  Isn't that beautiful. The God of the universe created us, loves and and wants to communicate with us.
How precious are your thoughts about me, O God. They cannot be numbered!
18 I can’t even count them; they outnumber the grains of sand! And when I wake up,
you are still with me! Psalm 139:17-18
