Do You Hear What I Hear?

The chaos can be too much at times~

One of the intriguing things about group Bible study is that we can all read the same verse of scripture and learn a totally different lesson pertaining to our individual lives at that time.  We may study the same passage years later in a totally different situation and be impacted by God's Words.

In a recent sermon at our church Romans 12:18  was cited pertaining to relationships we would be facing over Christmas break.

Do your best to live at peace with everyone.

Following that service I received texts and had conversations with people who said, "Whoa! That really spoke to me"  (marriage related)

"Sometimes in the moment it's hard to understand what God is telling you."         (An  in- law relationship)

"Maneuvering relationships in prison can be testy."

"I wish my girlfriend would apply this to her heart."

"Pray I can apply this to my workplace."

All different life struggles, but the same few simple Words were weaving themselves into the hearts of mankind.

The important thing is that WE HEAR and as I told one person, be thrilled that not only we are hearing from God, but overjoyed that He knows the details of our lives and struggles of our hearts and is sending us solutions!

Below are verses confirming it is possible for us to hear from God.

“And your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, ‘This is the way, walk in it,’ when you turn to the right or when you turn to the left.”

8. John 5:30

12. John 16:13
“When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come.”

13. Romans 8:14
“For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.”

14. Hebrews 2:1
“Therefore we must pay much closer attention to what we have heard, lest we drift away from it.”

15. Hebrews 3:15
“As it is said, ‘Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion.’”

16. Hebrews 4:12
“For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.”

17. James 1:19
“Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger.”

18. Revelation 3:20

Let's get in ready position to hear what God wants us to say as He pours out his love and concern over us.
