Keep Your Head Up

In her tent.

Our youngest child is camping with his family in Ohio along the path of totality, fulfilling his wife's birthday wish. In August of 2017 I was baby sitting in Nashville for two of our grandsons and we experienced a total eclipse.  While waiting in the front yard, as darkness settled in for just a few minutes, the light sensored street lights came on in the neighborhood.

Check out this definition of eclipse: "an obscuring of the light from one celestial body by the passage of another between it and the source of illumination."

Whew! When we think about the reality of the spiritual realm and the battles occurring there continually, that definition sheds a different light.  Our source of illumination, for all eternity, is Jesus, He is the Light and there is a whole lot of darkness trying to obscure Him from those who need him most.

This afternoon if you are in a place where darkness is settling in, use those four minutes to pray for all those who are living in darkness. May today be the day for them to turn towards the Light.

You used to be like people living in the dark, but now you are people of the light because you belong to the Lord. So act like people of the light and make your light shine. Be good and honest and truthful, as you try to please the Lord. Don't take part in doing those worthless things that are done in the dark. Instead, show how wrong they are. Ephesians 5:8-11

Jesus told us God is light and doesn't have any darkness in him. Now we are telling you.If we say we share in life with God and keep on living in the dark, we are lying and are not living by the truth. But if we live in the light, as God does, we share in life with each other. And the blood of his Son Jesus washes all our sins away.
1 John 1:5-7

Day after day I am amazed by all God provides.  I'm in a very busy season of life and hadn't heard from the Lord about what to write today. I sat up late last night listening but nothing came to me.  This morning I awakened and turned on Pandora's Contemporary Christiain Radio and there it was...a song I'd never heard, "Keep Your Head Up."  That led me to think about all the people who will be looking up to the sky to experience darkness in the day. My prayer, in Jesus' name,  is that in their seeking they find the Light.
