Romans

May 24th
Roaming through Paul's letter to the Romans we see God as a righteous judge, who will not tolerate sin, but in the same book we are able to shout hallelujah that God is so merciful, patient and forgiving and has a plan for repentance.
The Roman Road, which I have written on before, lays out a step by step understanding of how the Christian faith works.
Romans 3:23, Romans 6:23, Romans 10:9

Nothing could feel much better than my bed covering ensemble. Silk, satin and velvet combine to not only look beautiful, but feel wonderful. Romans 8:28 is what I consider, along with Philippians 4:13, a feel good verse which is full of hope.

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him,
who have been called according to his purpose.

Do you ever stop and wonder what God is working on in your life? Most of us are trying to improve ourselves in some fashion, but God has one goal...to conform us to the image of His Son. The scene in the Wizard of Oz has come to mind when they reach the castle and are getting spruced up. Snip, snip, here and a snip, snip there (I Googled to find the rest of the lyrics, but laughed out loud when instead an article on "Understanding a Vasectomy" appeared. Not what I was looking for.)
Father, we do ask that You snip away that which is not beneficial to our lives as representatives of Your Kingdom. Make us have a sweet aroma, like yeast bread on the rise! Help us remember You have a plan and a purpose for each of our lives which is to bring You Glory. This earthly juncture is simply a stop on the way to Eternity.
In Jesus' name, Amen

On my calendar this weekend was this quote by Herbert Vander Lugt
God always gives us what we ask for-or something better.
