In Order to Bring Praise to God.
September 22
Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you,
in order to bring praise to God.- Romans 15:7
Clicking on to Biblegateway I thought I knew where the Spirit was heading today. Searching a few words which came to mind, I got no where.
Over and over I kept coming back to the site's verse for today.
While the beginning phrase is convicting on accepting others, just as Christ accepts us, I can't get past the in order to bring praise to God part.
Why did we opt for our Christian faith? Personally, I kind of liked the eternal life in heaven with Jesus part.
That is probably the bait which caused me to bite, along with the enormity of God's love for me despite my sinfulness.
But where it has grown from there; the whole praise, confess, repent, trust, obey, meditate on the Word, pray without ceasing steps, should be in order to bring praise to God and lift His name on high.
Whatever we do, we are instructed to do it to God's glory, as if working for Him. So whether getting along with one another, caring for our homes or ourselves, or helping another; we should be productive in a way which makes God smile and gets him a heap of Glory! It is not about us, it is about Him! All the praise goes His way!
What does God have in our path today which will bring Him praise?
