The Weary World Rejoices
The song lyrics in "O Holy Night" echo Isaiah 5: 20-21 as they speak of “sin and error”.
Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter! Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes, and shrewd in their own sight! Isaiah 5:20-21
The weary world has long been waiting for some type of deliverance. In Romans chapter 8:19-23 Paul states how creation eagerly longs for God to show who his children are...that creation would be set free from decay and would share in the glorious freedom of his children...The Spirit makes us sure about what we will be in the future. But now we groan silently, while we wait for God to show us that we are his children.
A new and glorious morn broke forth with the birth of Jesus and God has taken back what rightfully belongs to Him! The soul felt its worth because God has not abandoned us to darkness, but brought the light into the world that we too may one day be with Him. Amen!
Now that thrill of hope is the reason to fall on our knees, praise His name, and be rejuvenated, not weary.

O Holy Night! The stars are brightly shining
It is the night of the dear Savior's birth!
Long lay the world in sin and error pining
Till he appear'd and the soul felt its worth.
A thrill of hope the weary soul rejoices
For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn!
Fall on your knees Oh hear the angel voices
Oh night divine Oh night when Christ was born
Oh night divine Oh night divine
