People for centuries have tried to figure out how to get to God.  Christianity differentiates itself from all the other religions in the world in that it doesn't require human effort to get to God, but it's the grace of God coming to us.

Jesus said, "Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him."  Revelation 3:20

God not only comes to us with an invitation, he has formatted a way to be with us; for us; and in us.  We just have to RSVP with a "yes."

God with us.  

And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age. Matthew 28:12

Jesus answered him, "If anyone loves me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him." John 14:23

God for us.

The Lord will fight for you, and you have only to be silent. Exodus 14:14

God in us. 

You, are no longer ruled by your desires, but by God's Spirit, who lives in you. People who don't have the Spirit of Christ in them don't belong to him.  Romans 8:9  

I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me.  And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.  Galatians 2:20

Mercy and Grace

  These three grands got wheels  for Christmas! Praying for mercy and grace! 2025 finds me launching off into a new Bible reading plan. Twenty five years ago when our daughter was living in Nashville, she had an amazing group of musician friends who would travel here for long weekends at the lake.  One of those young women is Tara Leigh Cobble, who now hosts a podcast called "The BibleRecap."   https://www.thebiblerecap.com/about On Day 5, while in Job, Tara Leigh addresses the difference in mercy and grace   this way. " Mercy  is when you don't get what you deserve. Toe Sucking

June 13 If I keep my eyes on God, I won't trip over my own feet. Psalm 25:12 …or allow them to be sucked off by carp!  For as long as I've been on this lake (49 years) we've gone to feed the carp at various marinas.   I have a bag of old bread waiting to be tossed to the carp tomorrow by our grandchildren!   There's a new adventure at a couple of the marinas.  Toe sucking!   For 25 cents you can buy a small scoop of peanut butter to go on your toes. Then the carp suck it off!   I just got a pedicure, so I have an excuse not to participate! What we do need to participate in is keeping our feet on the paths the Lord sets before us. Give careful though to the paths for your feet and be steadfast in all your ways. Proverbs 4:26
