Building Blocks
August 9
God has not given us a spirit of fear,
but of power and of love and of a sound mind."
2 Timothy 1:7
"We can never know God's power unless we attempt the impossible."

With my whole heart I have sought You.
Psalm 119:10
"God desires to talk with us in the quietness of our own heart through His Spirit."
Brent Curtis and John Eldredge
Boo thought: Do you remember playing with building blocks? Initially, as beginning builders we would just stack random blocks on top of one another. If we happened to have the stacking set with progressing sizes of blocks we quickly learned the larger ones went on the bottom. Today's verses, coupled with a few others, create a successful pattern for us to have obedience in Christ and a faith that does not waiver or crash!
Let's get stacking...
First, we will choose to:
love the Lord our God with all our heart and with all our soul and with all
our mind and with all our strength. (Mark 12:30)
Because of how we have chosen to love Christ...
We will keep his commands and obey him. (John 14:21)
As we...seek God with our whole heart (Psalm 119:10)
We will thrill that God has not given us a spirit of fear,
but of power and love and sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7)
And therefore we will be far more likely to persevere in trials. (James 1:12)
