I Know How the Story Ends

Two of our sons are enjoying living in the same city again raising their children together.  There is plenty of story telling going on.

Something led me to listen to the audio book Gabriel's Angel, written in 1989 by Nora Roberts.  It's about a pregnant widow on the run from her wealthy in laws who want to take the baby she is carrying.  I cannot stand any scary storyline, so I've been trying to decide whether to stop listening.  True confession. I was unsuccessful in an online attempt to try to find a spoiler to let me know what the in laws do to her.

What I like about Hallmark movies and the Bible are that we know how the story ends! There is no need to live in fear filled with worry and anxiety. The best is yet to come! Jesus has the final word for all eternity.

John writes to us in Revelation 21:1-7

Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more.  And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.  And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, "Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes, there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying, and there shall be no more pain, for the former things are passed away. Then He who sat on the throne said, “Behold I make all things new." Also he said, "Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true."  And he said to me, "It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and he end. To the thirsty I will give from the spring of the water of life without payment.  The one who conquers will have this heritage, and I will be his God and he will be my son."

Our minds cannot even comprehend how the story ends for those who are children of the most high God.

In Titus 2:13 the apostle Paul said, We are filled with hope, as we wait for the glorious return of out great God and Savior Jesus Christ.
