Exhilarating Faith
It's 1:30 AM and I am awake and exhilarated by my faith. Maybe it's that spring is in the air and bursting forth in color, (I wish the pollen was not) or that Easter Sunday is coming, which always brings a "Alleluia! If the man of my dreams wasn't sleeping soundly beside me, I'd shout "Jesus is alive!"
Once a month my daughter and I host a time of praise and prayer around her harp and God's Word. Afterwards the women all stay and share a meal. It is the sweetest fellowship and we all leave pondering what we have learned and how we have been loved by one another. Several of us have been gathering to do this for over 20 years, others are new to this fellowship.
God had laid out what I thought the message was to be for the day, but while doing some housekeeping in the last minutes before they arrived He gave me a new message to share. I love that about faith in Jesus! It's exhilarating when He speaks and stirs our hearts. He takes ancient words and makes them come alive. He takes ordinary Words and directs our steps.
My stroke left me with left side weakness, so I hold on when maneuvering around. While making a bed, I tripped on a blanket on the floor, but was thankful to have been holding onto a dresser as I rounded the edge of the bed. The lyric hold onto Jesus because He's holding on to you came to mind and thrilled my heart.
Then heading up the stairs I came to where there was a baby gate. The message in my mind was "Remove the spiritual baby gates in your life. Don't let them hold you back from maturing in your faith and sharing with others that it's all about Jesus."
While putting away some plastic Easter eggs I felt the Lord say, "Give egg woman an empty egg and suggest she take it home and fill it with a scripture as a reminder My Word fills up the voids in our life." Then as we were singing "Come Jesus, Come" I saw a woman opening and closing her egg which was in her lap. My mind drifted to the phrase..."The tomb was empty!" Now this passage is exciting!
Luke 24:1-6
Very early on Sunday morning the women went to the tomb, carrying the spices they had prepared. When they found the stone rolled away from the entrance, they went in. But they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus, and they did not know what to think.
Suddenly two men in shining white clothes stood beside them. The women were afriad and bowed to the ground. But the men said, "Why are you looking in the place of the dead for someone who is alive? Jesus isn't here! He has been raised from death.
Lawsie! In the quiet of ten minutes of chores the Lord reminded me I walk in an exhilarating faith with a Savior who is alive and loves to speak to me. He is alway at work doing a new thing to help make us more like Christ as we journey home. Make room in your heart for Him today.
