Our Great Hope and Expectation

Missing these three, but so thankful for the 8 days they gave us. Time is such a gift.

You know when you read something or hear from the Lord and a lightbulb goes off?

In a devotional by John Eldredge titled "Awaiting Jesus" he posed this question.

"Have you made your great hope and expectation the imminent return of Jesus? If not, why not?"

Philippians 3:20 NLT says "And we are eagerly waiting for him to return.

Y'all, I am excited about that moment and would much rather be beamed up with my man than us go through earthly separation, but honestly, I have not been waking up every morning saying, "Come today, Lord Jesus, come!"   When you care about people not walking with the Lord you long to see that happen before Jesus returns.

The day of Jesus' return is described as happening "in a moment, in the blink of an eye." Whew y'all!  It will be quick! No turning back, no turning back. The direction we go will be a done deal.

Be alert and think straight. Put all your hope in how God will treat you with undeserved grace when Jesus Christ appears.  1 Peter 1:13

Lord, forgive me for some of the things of this world I have hoped for today before hoping and looking expectantly for Your return.  It won't matter is my Amazon delivery return arrives on time or if our Shiloh spring spruce up is done in a timely matter. The grandchildren's tennis, soccer and lacrosse matches are not of eternal value, nor are having enough treats to hide the in the Easter eggs.

My rejoicing this moment is that I heard from You and you transformed my thoughts to those which are of eternal value when it comes to my hopes and expectations.  In Jesus' name.
