Low Battery
Click, click, click! Many of our lamps and decorative lighting features are on remote control switches in various rooms in the house. Lately, it has been a struggle to get the living room lights to come on. I've found myself even walking across the room and aiming the remote right at the box in the electrical socket. (That defeats the purpose.) In a lightbulb moment, I remembered that the remote requires batteries and maybe the issue was that they had weakened. Removing the specialty battery, I placed it in my battery strength checker and there was my answer. "Weak"
We can weaken spiritually. It is so easy to replace the power available to us through God's Word and the Holy Spirit and walk towards what the world has to offer to soothe our souls. We forget who God is...
He determines the number of the stars; he gives to all of them their names. Great is our Lord, and abundant in power; his understanding is beyond measure. Psalm 147:4-5
Let's pray like Paul to continually walk in the power of God.
"Praying for Spiritual Strength" Ephesians 3:14-21
For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith-that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.
Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.
