The Greeting

Some women from our church had a spring bus trip planned and the weather outside was "a wash" for sure. We had to tweak the excursion a bit, but that didn't keep the sun from shining through the hearts of these beautiful women who all made a new friend! It was a very good day!

One of my favorite church greetings is..."Are you ready to praise the Lord!"

Entering church one Sunday morning,  two young mothers in the lobby greeted me saying the all familiar American greeting...."How are you?"  I chuckled and relied, "Why do we greet one another that way? Do we really want to hear how people are truly doing? We make lairs out of one another, because the most of the time we respond to that question by saying, "Fine" which is not the case. They laughed in agreement.

We train our church greeters to come up with another greeting, unless they are willing to hear truth and go to a quiet place and pray for that person.

Do you ever sit in church on a Sunday morning and look at the back of the heads in front of you and think..."What are the burdens they are carrying Lord?  Meet their needs in unexpected ways."

And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.

“There isn’t a woman in the Bible that God used who had it easy.

Ruth did not have it easy.

Esther didn’t have it easy.

Sara didn’t have it easy.

Hanna didn’t have it easy.

Bathsheba didn’t have it easy.

Mary didn’t have it easy.

The woman at the well didn’t have it easy.

We better stop following for that feel good gospel and recognize that God daughters don’t have it easy.

They have it anointed.

They have it appointed.

They have it highly favored.

They have it predestined.

And they all have had the victory.

Sister, You walk in your anointing. Easy or not."

Let's pray:

Father, God, You are our all and all. Life is a lot, but You are greater than every lot!  You have a solution for whatever comes our way.  As women of faith fill us with Your Holy Spirit to be encouragers who point one another to the Father's love.  In Jesus' name, the One who loves like no other, Amen.
