The Praying Spouses

Most mornings, before my husband heads to work, we open our Power of a Praying Husband/Wife books and pray the prayer for that day, out loud, over one another.  This is an excellent way to practice praying together. They are powerful prayers based upon scripture.  God seems to place before us the prayer we need to be prayed for us. Below is an example.

Wife praying for husband:

“Lord, help my husband to be strong in You so that he will be delivered from his enemy. Enable him to put on the while armor of God, so he can stand against the wiles of the devil in the evil day. Help him to gird his waist with truth and put on the breastplate of righteousness, having shod his feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace.  Enable him to take up the shield of faith, with which to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one.

I pray that he will take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God, praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful and standing strong to the end."  (Ephesians 6:13-18)  In Jesus’ name I pray.

Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him on high, because he has known My name.  Psalm 91:14

Husband praying for wife:

"Lord, I ask that You would restore all that has ever been stolen from (use wife's name)  until she is lacking not good thing. I know that in Your presence is healing and wholeness.  Help (wife's name) to live in Your presence so that she can be made totally whole.  I know that “though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh.

For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds. (2 Corinthians 10:3-4)  In the name of Jesus I pull down any strongholds the enemy has erected around my wife. In Jesus’ name."

The Lord will deliver me from every evil work and preserve me for His heavenly kingdom.  To Him be glory forever and ever.  2 Timothy 4:18
