The Battle Belongs to the Lord
God allows us to go through suffering to further his plan for our lives.
God is leading me to something new, but for today I will share some Boo thoughts on battling in the spiritual realm.
I really wanted the title today to be "Kick him in the balls, " but that's not very proper for a pastor's wife.
The battle is real and it is NOT against flesh and blood.
We are not fighting against humans. We are fighting against forces and authorities and against rulers of darkness and powers in the spiritual world. Ephesians 6:12
The week before Easter was a hellacious week and the devil darts were flying from so many directions we couldn't get our shields of faith up fast enough. The past couple months have been a season where I have had weary, weepy, moments, okay days, (in honesty, just this morning) preferring to go be with Jesus, than remain on earth enduring the pain I see in people's lives. This mama's heart HURTS.
But I am a Princess Warrior, right? I have armor readily available. My Father is the victorious, eternal King who loves, leads, protects and provides, so there is no reason to be afraid.
The battle belongs to the Lord. For the Lord your God is the one who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies to give you victory. Deuteronomy 20:4
One day a situation arose that had this boy mom saying, "Well, the devil has to have balls to come after this family, because in the mighty name of JESUS I say we kick him in the balls."
This Priscilla Shirer clip popped up on Instagram and put me in mama tiger mode.

We can trust in the Lord even in the toughest of times. He is greater than our enemy.
This description, by John Piper, of the armor and weapons available to us could be an entire post. Ephesians 6:14-18
- The belt of truth: what holds our “uniform” together and keeps our “limbs” free is knowing God’s truth.
- The breastplate of righteousness: understanding how we are clothed with Christ’s righteousness (Philippians 3:9) is what guards our vitals.
- The shoes of the gospel: what enables us to traverse difficult ground during battle is knowledge of the gospel of peace.
- The shield of faith: trusting God’s promises is what extinguishes darts of deception, not detailed knowledge of the darts or their shooters.
- The helmet of salvation: our head (our brain) is protected by clearly knowing who saved us and how.
- The sword of the Spirit: the word of God is our most powerful, effective offensive weapon against a powerful spiritual enemy.
- Pray at all times in the Spirit: speaking to demons is not something the Bible commends. The only speaking to demons we see is rebuking them in Jesus’s name. Praying to God is what we are mainly commanded to do when confronting demonic powers.
