Somewhere In Your Silent Night
We have 62 degree temperatures today, which is crazy for this time of year in Virginia. The house has flipped over to its January adornment of a snowman motif while Christmas music, like today's beautiful song selection, still brings joy to my heart.
This entry was left over from December.
The lights, decorations, food, festive fashions, music and if you are lucky maybe a beautiful quick snowfall and a children's choir singing, set the tone for an emotional December.
It is the season of longing. Our hearts tug for the person who is no longer around to buy a present for.
Every good gift, every perfect gift, comes from above. These gifts come down from the Father, the creator of the heavenly lights, in whose character there is no change at all. James 1:17
Maybe your home is full of children and you have very few silent nights. Several parents at our church have shared how they long for an entire night's sleep and a few moments alone. Trust me, those days will come and you will long for an interruption to the silence of your day.
God created us to be relational, to long for one another and to love one another. Most of all He created us to love and long for Him!
My soul longs, yes, faints for the courts of the Lord; my heart and my flesh sing for joy to the living God. Psalm 84:2
Today's lyrics are touching.
"Somewhere in your silent night heaven hears the song your broken heart has cried. Hope is here, just lift your head for love has come to find you somewhere in your silent night."
