No, I do not have a good financial tip. But, I do want to start the New Year off sharing with a stirring in my heart.  For two months the Lord has been saying, "Invest in others!"  He's speaking of the spiritual deposits we can make in the lives of others. This is the verse He gave me to keep on my heart in 2025.

We loved you very much, so we wanted to tell you God's good news.
We wanted to share our lives with you too.
1 Thessalonians 2:8


Who are some Biblical investors you recall?
Jethro invested in Moses
Moses invested in Joshua
Ezra invested in Nehemiah
Eli invested in Samuel
Mordecai invested in Esther
Barnabas invested in Paul 
Paul invested in Timothy.
Naomi invested in Ruth
Elisabeth invested in Mary
And Jesus....well the gift goes on.

How often do we give testimony to a scripture verse that has brought much needed conviction in our own life or encouragement to a time we thought we couldn't go on?

When was the last time we grabbed someone and said, "Listen to this song! God has used it to speak to me."

A friend gave me a pack of "tear off" scripture notes for Christmas knowing how much I enjoy leaving them random places for people to discover.

Who needs to be inviting to our kitchen table for a cup of coffee or a meal?
(Oh my, a name just flew across my mind and it it won't be convenient, but I need to make it happen.)

God is calling me to set aside one day a week in January to mentor a group of younger  women. Because of who I know God to be, I know the time investment in these women's lives will end up blessing me.

Open our eyes Lord, so that we might see, who you are calling us to share about thee!

Okay, here's the let's get real with life thoughts that the enemy implants in our minds. Before I could search for a song the enemy whispered..."Writing Boojoyful is enough. It takes a lot of your day. You shouldn't have to do more."  Oh, I know that voice and it's not from Jesus.  Then the serpent tempted me again.  "It's your birthday month.  You need some you time. Others can wait." Wow. He's crafty.  Time with Jesus in obedience to what he is asking is the best ME time ever.  Get behind me Satan.

Toe Sucking

June 13 If I keep my eyes on God, I won't trip over my own feet. Psalm 25:12 …or allow them to be sucked off by carp!  For as long as I've been on this lake (49 years) we've gone to feed the carp at various marinas.   I have a bag of old bread waiting to be tossed to the carp tomorrow by our grandchildren!   There's a new adventure at a couple of the marinas.  Toe sucking!   For 25 cents you can buy a small scoop of peanut butter to go on your toes. Then the carp suck it off!   I just got a pedicure, so I have an excuse not to participate! What we do need to participate in is keeping our feet on the paths the Lord sets before us. Give careful though to the paths for your feet and be steadfast in all your ways. Proverbs 4:26

Remember Your Story

Our oldest granddaughter made this bouquet and hand painted card for me.💖 Nothing touches our lives that God doesn't allow.  He has a plan and a purpose, sometimes far into the future, that can be used for His glory. (Jeremiah 29:11) Flash back 40 years and I approached life's downs with an "I can't believe this is happening." and truth be told "How can I fix it?" attitude.   Now that I am older and wiser I see that God truly works all things together for good for those who are called according to His purpose.  (Romans 8:28) I thank God for the stroke 8 years ago and how it mellowed me out (okay some of you are laughing, but it really did). And honestly,  I like getting old. Sure, there are regrets, but there is also value in being able to pass along the wisdom learned from those regrets. God CAN use everything for His good.
