A neighbor across the cove from us sent this photo of our house being at the end of the rainbow.
That same day a young woman, very dear to me, emailed about a period of heartache she is going through in regards to a broken relationship. God gave us the rainbow as a symbol of his divine mercy and grace. His promise of redemption and that he will never destroy the earth by flood again. Destruction brings us down, especially when it involves relationships. We long for things/people to bring us the satisfaction our relationship with God can only fill.
After an early morning God encounter, I emailed this precious woman knowing she would relate to the longing I was experiencing. She lived in my hometown for a period of time and she too loved my sweet Daddy.
My note:
"Awakening early, there was a longing in my heart to be able to walk into my daddy's house and just visit. Tears gathered in my eyes, as I told the Lord how much I miss my father who had the sweetest smile, sparkling blue eyes, a warm hand to hold and wisdom for every situation. In the longing God said, “I am your Daddy and am here to listen. Lay your burdens down and then start giving thanks.
Not many people get to have a father live right in their neighborhood for so many years. (He lived to be 93 and I was 56 when he took his last breath with me in the bed next to him.) Give thanks. You were blessed to have an earthly father who found so much joy loving and providing for his children and grandchildren. Give thanks. Lean into Me and My love and learn from Me.
Sweet one, whatever you face today, turn your longings into thanksgiving. I love you and Jesus does too."
Be joyful always, pray without ceasing and in all things give thanks. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
For every child of God defeats this evil world, and we achieve this victory through our faith. 1 John 5:4
The Song (Sing along using the lyrics below.)
"Gonna Be Alright" Ryan Ellis
Lyrics
You hear my cry, my deepest pain You listen patiently as long as it takes
You whisper truth over the lies The words that bring me back to life
Everything's gonna be alright Everything's gonna be alright
You hold me in Your arms Until my storm is calm
Everything's gonna be alright, hmmm Everything's gonna be alright
You are the strength when I am weak The only one that leads my soul to perfect peace
And I will sing my way through the night The words that bring me back to life
Everything's gonna be alright Everything's gonna be alright
You hold me in Your arms Until my storm is calm
Everything's gonna be alright Everything's gonna be alright
Your love will be my song 'Til all my fears are gone
Everything's gonna be alright Everything's gonna be alright Everything's gonna be alright
And I believe, oh I believe
You're working all things for my good
You're working all things for my good
And I believe, yes, I believe
You're working all things for my good
You're working all things
And everything's gonna be alright Everything's gonna be alright
You hold me in Your arms 'Til all my fear is gone
Everything's gonna be alright Everything's gonna be alright
Your love will be my song 'Til all my fears are gone
Everything's gonna be alright Everything's gonna be alright Everything's gonna be alright
I believe, yes I believe You're working all things for my good You're working all things for my good
