For the past several years my husband and a couple of his church buddies in their 70's have put up our outdoor Christmas tree. Last month, the two sidekicks both had surgery and neither will be putting up any trees this year. I'm thanking the Lord for the next generation of 30-50 year olds who have stepped into the Christmas Tree ministry! They did an awesome job this morning.
Simply Sing
I'm sick at home with a cold and cough and missing being with my brothers and sisters in Christ at church. Yes, I know I can still listen online and I'm certain God is up to good. I began the morning with praise and heard a song by Kim Walker'Smith, Naomis Raine, and We are Messengers, which was new to me.
Take a moment to simply sing praise to an amazing God who calls us to come to him.
The Song
“God You Are” We are messengers.

When I was young, you called my name I tried to run, but still you came
And you stepped into the dark 'Cause that's just the kind of God you are
When heaven seems beyond my reach You still see eternity in me
You're turning ashes into art 'Cause that's just the kind of God you are
It's in the empty tomb, it's on the rugged cross
Your death defying love is written in your scars
You'll never quit on me, you'll always hold my heart
'Cause that's the kind of God you are
You gave me freedom from my sin You told me I could start again
All the hurt is dead and gone Now we're your daughters and your sons
Amazing grace, how sweet the sound We once were lost, but now we're found
Forever you hold us in Your arms 'Cause that's just the kind of God you are, oh
It's in the empty tomb, it's on the rugged cross
Your death defying love is written in your scars
You'll never quit on me, you'll always hold my heart
'Cause that's the kind of God you are
You are holy, holy, holy, high and set apart
You are holy, holy, holy, God, that's who you are
