Exhausted

The title isn't referring to the kind of exhaustion that first came to your mind.  I am talking about literal exhaust fumes that make you want to gag.  A plethora of various forms of stench that have crossed my path in my get away with Jesus time.

Going to my screened porch, tree house getaway, I opened the door to the smell of skunk and quickly retreated back inside.  Two days later, heading to the same spot I settled down for some listening to the Lord, and moments afterwards whiffs of cigarette smoke infiltrated the air from across the cove.  In 27 years I have never encountered that nasty smell on this property with the exception of one construction worker.

Taking to the pavement, for an early morning walk in a nearby country club neighborhood, I first encountered the exhaust of 4 large lawn mowers heading out to manicure the golf course.  That was mild compared to what next took to the usually fragrant country air...a garbage truck gathering the trash from the country club.

I asked the Lord, "What is the lesson here?"  His reply..."There will be no stinky skunk smell, cigarette smoke, garbage, or exhaust from gas in heaven.  Forget these disturbances and others that will come your way today and cover your mind with Philippians 4:8 by keeping your mind on whatever is true, pure, right, holy, friendly, and proper.  Don't ever stop thinking about what is truly worthwhile and worthy of praise."

As I walked onward, this song came on Pandora. "Gonna Be Alright."

I should pull up the familiar song..."When We all Get to Heaven" but I need to run take banana bread out of the oven and fill this house with that sweet aroma.
