Applications

One of our sons is married to a Minnesota girl and she sent my husband this shirt.

I told him when he wears it, that has to be his response to any of my requests!😀😂

A friend texted on Mother's Day with a heart wrenching prayer request for the marriage of one of her sons.  After praying I sent her this text and then realized that often when God gives us wisdom to pray over someone else, the application is excellent for our own life. We may not have asked for it or seen a need for it, but it's a clever way for God to get it into our own hearts.

I wrote: "Get behind them Satan in the mighty name of Jesus. May their hearts turn to You, Lord, allow You to be over their marriage. Bring peace that passes understanding, let no words proceed from their mouths except that which is beneficial for building up their marriage."

The following morning I wrote to this mother;

"God's mercies are new every morning. I know your mama's heart has to be tossing in a barrage of emotions.  As I was just praying for the situation again the Lord said, "Be still my soul and trust in the One who goes before all things." As I began praying for marriages as a whole, the Lord said, 'Pray that couples would remember marriage is a life long building process. We must choose to use the blocks/materials that are long lasting and sturdy. Kind words, selfless love, helpfulness, laughter, quick forgiveness, tenderness and an attitude that has us thinking more of our spouse, than of ourselves.

In other words, we must love like Jesus does.  In order to do this, we must die to self everyday and keep our noses in God's Word which directs our path."

I wrote, "Well, my husband is in luck today because that message is going to change the way I act today.  I'm praying now that we and all our children and grandchildren, see our marriages as a treasure of immense value that requires maintenance and protection."

"Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves.  Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others.  Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And beging found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to death-even death on a cross!  Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father."
