Music is a Way to Testify

Music is such a powerful way to bring a message. Now, just with a click on our phones we can pull up any genre or artist.  No more going to the turntable to drop on that record.

Again and again the Bible reminds us to sing!  
"Sing praises to God, sing praises! Sing praises to our King, sing praises!" Psalm 47:6

Pictured above is my four month old Snuggie. She is an old soul. We've been enjoying some screened porch time listening to the birds and music.  While the album "Hidden in My Heart" is one of our favorites for rest time, the other day I clicked on Michael Buble radio and we heard him singing these lyrics which are very appropriate for a grandmother/grandchild relationship.  "I've Got a Crush on You"  "I Get A Kick Out of You," and "Close Your Eyes!"

Elvis came on with "Can't Help Falling in Love." But hands down Snuggie's favorites so far are “Stand By Me,” “Just the Way You Look Tonight” and Ella Fitzgerald singing “Someone to Watch Over Me.”

Jesus is standing by and watching over us and he loves us just the way we look everyday!

Marriage Matters #1

One of life's deepest hurts is when the one you love is unfaithful. Forty years ago, I remember an older friend, whose wife had been unfaithful and left him for another man saying to me..."Boo, I hope you never experience having the person you love and are married to, living 8 blocks away loving someone else." Deep hurt. They divorced. The wife of another friend of ours was having an affair with a fellow church member and a neighbor of theirs who lived 5 blocks away. She moved in with this man and our friend said one evening he was walking by the house where they were living together and saw them sitting at a table having a candlelight dinner. Ugh. The torment. I've always said it would be aweful to find out the person you were married to and  loved deeply loved another.  Hmm. Fill Us Up

  In my early morning time with Jesus, he gave me a fun picture.  Out in front of the portico of our  church there was a huge gas pump and  off to the side an outlet for electric cars (got to love all people right?). The pump stood as a reminder that we come each Sunday to get filled up/charged up with wisdom and knowledge to face what is coming in the week ahead and equipped to make the necessary decisions that are ahead. Just like God sent manna daily so the people would rely on Him daily, we are to come to church weekly to worship, encourage one another and get filled up in our faith.  God will give us just what we need for that time, but we must return each week for God knows what we need next. For I will pour water on the thirsty land, and streams on the dry ground; I will pour my Spirit upon your offspring, and my blessing on your descendants. Isaiah 44:3 .
