Me on Your Mind - Everything you do is marvelous!

Another wonderful summer week of cousin fellowship at the lake.
Ending a very hot day with an after dinner swim.

Listening to the Matthew West song below gave me reason to pause and ponder the magnitude of God.  I asked myself, "Do my husband, any of my children or neighbors have me on their minds right now?  Possibly.  How about our governor or the president whose authority I am under?  Probably not. But God Almighty is capable of keeping all of us on His mind all the time.

David, a man after God's own heart, has a lot to say about God's knowing in Psalm 139 (CEV).  This is such a rich, rich Psalm and worth regularly meditating upon. Here are a few takeaways to remember.

You have looked deep into my heart, Lord, and you know all about me.

You know when I am resting or when I am working and from heaven you discover my thoughts.

You notice everything I do and everywhere I go.  Before I even speak a word you know what I will say, and with your powerful arm you protect me from every side.

I can't understand all of this!  Such wonderful knowledge is far above me....

You are the one who put me together inside my mother's body, and I praise you because of the wonderful way you created me. Everything you do is marvelous!

Nothing about me is hidden from you!..Even before I was born you had written in your book everything about me. Your thoughts are far beyond my understanding, much more than I could ever imagine.

Look deep into my heart, God, and find out everything I am thinking.  Don't let me follow evil ways but lead me in the way that time has proven true.

If you are feeling in the pits. Feeling like nobody notices you. Remember Psalm 139.

Toe Sucking

June 13 If I keep my eyes on God, I won't trip over my own feet. Psalm 25:12 …or allow them to be sucked off by carp!  For as long as I've been on this lake (49 years) we've gone to feed the carp at various marinas.   I have a bag of old bread waiting to be tossed to the carp tomorrow by our grandchildren!   There's a new adventure at a couple of the marinas.  Toe sucking!   For 25 cents you can buy a small scoop of peanut butter to go on your toes. Then the carp suck it off!   I just got a pedicure, so I have an excuse not to participate! What we do need to participate in is keeping our feet on the paths the Lord sets before us. Give careful though to the paths for your feet and be steadfast in all your ways. Proverbs 4:26

Mercy and Grace

  These three grands got wheels  for Christmas! Praying for mercy and grace! 2025 finds me launching off into a new Bible reading plan. Twenty five years ago when our daughter was living in Nashville, she had an amazing group of musician friends who would travel here for long weekends at the lake.  One of those young women is Tara Leigh Cobble, who now hosts a podcast called "The BibleRecap."   https://www.thebiblerecap.com/about On Day 5, while in Job, Tara Leigh addresses the difference in mercy and grace   this way.
