The End of the Path
This is a private road that intersects our private road. It makes me think of the path of life. Life is not smooth. It has bumps, dirt, cracks and even pot holes, but the end looks hopeful.
A couple days after I had watched "Miracles From Heaven," I was cleaning up the photos on my phone and came across this story that I had screen shotted. I cannot remember the source. (It sounds like "Jesus Calling.")
"At the end of your life-path is an entrance to heaven. Only I know when you will reach that destination, but I am preparing you for it each step of the way. The absolute certainty of your heavenly home gives you Peace and Joy to help you along the journey. You know that you will reach your home in My Perfect timing not one moment too soon or too late. Let the hope of heaven encourage you as you walk along the path of Life with Me."
From the ends of the earth I call to you. I call as my heart grows faint; lead me to the rock that is higher than I. For you have been my refuge, a strong tower against the foe. I long to dwell in your tent forever and take refuge in the shelter of your wings. Psalm 61:2-4
Surely God is my salvation; I will trust and not be afraid. The Lord, the Lord, is my strength and my song; he has become my salvation. Isaiah 12:2
Why are we so hesitant to speak about the end of our life? It will come for all of us. I've been prepping for the fourth of July week with family coming in and thinking about how I want us to celebrate each day with food and festivities. I know each day will end and though the farewells will include heart tugs, I know they are a reality.
Think about weddings. So much planning, but after the ceremony and reception there is an end to the celebration, but you are excited for what is next for the married couple. Likewise, for those of us who love Jesus, our funerals/celebrations of life signify an end of life on earth and there is a sadness for those left behind, but there is excitement over what eternity and our heavenly home hold for us at the end of our earthly path.
Now that's a reason to shout, "Hallelujah!"
The Song (So fun this just popped up on YouTube. I've never heard it before, but God provided a great song!)
