Proverbs 10

 Proverbs 10 has a lot to say about lips, mouths and words.  One commentary said, "Speak well, get blessed; speak badly, get blasted."  

Check out verses 11-14 in the CEV

The words of good people are a source of life, but evil hides behind the words of the wicked. 

Hatred stirs up trouble; love overlooks the wrongs that others do. 

If you have good sense it will show when you speak. But if you are stupid, you will be beaten with a stick. 

If you have good sense, you will learn all you can, but foolish talk will soon destroy you.

Lord, when I open my mouth today may my words bring glory to You and life, laughter, healing, happiness, hope and joy to all the ears who hear them.  Train me up to stop and think before I spew out any words. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Fill Us Up

  In my early morning time with Jesus, he gave me a fun picture.  Out in front of the portico of our  church there was a huge gas pump and  off to the side an outlet for electric cars (got to love all people right?). The pump stood as a reminder that we come each Sunday to get filled up/charged up with wisdom and knowledge to face what is coming in the week ahead and equipped to make the necessary decisions that are ahead. Just like God sent manna daily so the people would rely on Him daily, we are to come to church weekly to worship, encourage one another and get filled up in our faith.  God will give us just what we need for that time, but we must return each week for God knows what we need next. For I will pour water on the thirsty land, and streams on the dry ground; I will pour my Spirit upon your offspring, and my blessing on your descendants. Isaiah 44:3 . Toe Sucking

June 13 If I keep my eyes on God, I won't trip over my own feet. Psalm 25:12 …or allow them to be sucked off by carp!  For as long as I've been on this lake (49 years) we've gone to feed the carp at various marinas.   I have a bag of old bread waiting to be tossed to the carp tomorrow by our grandchildren!   There's a new adventure at a couple of the marinas.  Toe sucking!   For 25 cents you can buy a small scoop of peanut butter to go on your toes. Then the carp suck it off!   I just got a pedicure, so I have an excuse not to participate! What we do need to participate in is keeping our feet on the paths the Lord sets before us. Give careful though to the paths for your feet and be steadfast in all your ways. Proverbs 4:26
