The Psalms (There's Got to Be a God)

Beside Still Waters

Here's a "there's got to be a God behind all this" story.

July 15th I wrote an entry on Boojoyful called "Beside Still Waters" related to an April encounter I had at a women's class where unknowingly a woman and I sketched the same picture during a time of prayer. It was of a lake with mountains and I had written "Beside Still Waters" at the top of mine.  I felt very clearly that God was calling me to a new area of ministry that would happen beside still waters, but I was clueless as to when and what it would be.  Our home Shiloh is beside the waters of a mountain lake.

In that entry I wrote: "The question now is how obedient will I be to follow through and seek what God is calling to happen beside still waters?  I've been dragging my feet."

Beside Still Waters entry

Six days ago I was contacted to pray about a desperate need for leaders for CBS in our county. Community Bible Study is a non denominational international Bible study program with lots of class options. The link is  https://www.communitybiblestudy.org

If you live in Franklin County, VA the direct link is https://franklincounty.cbsclass.org

After praying with my daughter, we agreed to lead a remote class here at Shiloh this year.  Here's the crazy thing.  When we received our books, tears dripped down my cheeks as I looked at the cover...

The cover of the book is the same layout of the sketches the other lady and I drew!

No one can ever convince me there isn't a God in every detail of our lives.   "Trust and obey for there's no other way to be happy in Jesus than to trust and obey."

In the first week of homework ,we were challenged to write a scriptural prayer from what we read in Psalms 4, 11, 16,63, 73, and 91.

Here is mine.

I am calling on You, the God of David.

I am turning to You for understanding like Asaph.

I am trusting You for directions like Noah and saying, "Bless You, Lord, for all your wise counsel time and time again."

I am casting away fear in Jesus' name like Daniel, Meshach, Shadrach and Abednego because I can testify like David (Psalm 4:1 )

You have given me relief when I was in distress.

Lift up the light of Your face upon me and put joy overflowing into my heart. Psalm 4:6

Because of who I know You to be, I will lie down and sleep in safety. Hallelujah! Psalm 4:8

As I enter this day, I shall say, You are my Lord and I have no good apart from You. (Psalm 16:2) Forgive me when I forget this and think those grandchildren are the finest thing on earth. I know I can tend to made them idols. Fullness of joy comes from You alone.

I earnestly seek You and Because Your steadfast love is better than life, my lips will praise You. (Psalm 63:3)

You know my heartaches, as Your's does, for those who have rejected You. Help me remember it is Your desire that none should perish. 2 Peter 3:9 Give me courage to continue to tell of all your wondrous works. (Psalm 73:28)

I love You, Lord, my refuge and my fortress. I trust in You. (Psalm 91:2) In Jesus' name.

Friends, be excited because there is a God and he has something to share with you today!
