Go and Grow

June 26
About a year ago, I challenged myself to learn something (any little nugget) new every day. This devotional thought for today has challenged me to learn something new in the Bible every day!

A woman attending the "One in a Million" Bible Study I'm hosting confessed at dinner Monday night that she had really only been coming for some fellowship and to meet some other Christian women. She was not interested in doing the study part. Then when she was put on the spot by an email laying out some questions that would be discussed over dinner, she realized she would actually have to do the study.  In the midst of studying, the Lord impressed upon her heart that He was not finished teaching her here on earth!
Another woman shared how she did not like the study, because it was stepping on her toes....pointing out too many areas of needed improvement.

No matter our age, may we all be spurred on to "go" to Bible Study and church and continue to "grow" in wisdom and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ as much as possible this side of heaven.

All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness.  2 Timothy 3:16

Therefore, rid yourselves of all malice and all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and slander of every kind. Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation, now that you have tasted that the Lord is good.  1 Peter 2:1-3

We always thank God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, when we pray for you, because we have heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of the love you have for all God's people-the faith and love that spring from the hope store up for you in heaven and about which you have already heard in the true message of the gospel that has come to you.  In the same way, the gospel is bearing fruit and growing throughout the whole world-just as it has been doing among you since the day you heard it and truly understood God's grace...For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you.  We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives, so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, and giving joyful thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of his holy people in the kingdom of light.  Colossians 1:3-6, 9-
