A Missed Moment in Madness

November 8
Today's title came to me Saturday after I had allowed a wedge to wiggle in between my husband and myself the night before. We don't even know what led me to vacuuming at 8:30PM and him to going to bed without saying good night, but that was all it took for division to set in. The next morning we were both quick to apologize for allowing the enemy any ground. Our hearts were distraught at the thought of what if the Lord had called us home during those moments, as well as an aching for any moments missed together. Time on this earth is short and we should make the most of precious moments.

There is dual meaning in the word madness in today's title,
yet both can rob us of the life God intended for us to live.
One way to equate it is with anger and Proverbs 22:24 warns us about anger.
Do not make friends with a hot-tempered man, do not associate with one easily angered for you may learn his ways and get yourself ensnared.

Another option to avoid is madness as it relates to the fast pace of the world and what the world tells us in important.

Don't love the world's ways. Don't love the world's goods. Love of the world squeezes out love for the Father. Practically everything that goes on in the world—wanting your own way, wanting everything for yourself, wanting to appear important—has nothing to do with the Father. It just isolates you from him. The world and all its wanting, wanting, wanting is on the way out—but whoever does what God wants is set for eternity.1 John 2:15

Let's Pray: We praise You Lord for the moments you have given us. From the moment You thought about creating us, You had a purpose for us. Forgive us when we get selfish or anxious with our moments. Train us to trust You and to desire to follow You with a sold out for Jesus attitude, which will lead us down a path to marvelous moments. Lord, I try to avoid getting political, but once again You have impressed upon my heart the need to pray for our men and women in public office. Give them hearts to follow You, for when pleasing You and bringing You glory is their primary purpose then they will make decisions which will bring blessings to our nations. The pattern is as old as time and can be seen time and time again. For this moment we choose to honor You Father and thank You for what You did through Your Son for us. You have saved us from the madness. In Christ's Name, we come to You and pray. Amen
