40th Birthday Prayer

Happy Birthday to this kind hearted boy who has become an amazing man.

Wish he didn't live so far away so we could eat cake together.

Happy Happy Birthday to my son. The greatest gift I can give you is that of prayer, so on this your 40th birthday I am carrying You before the Lord.
Love, Mom

Father, I thank You for how you fearfully and wonderfully wove my son inside my womb.  When his friends and family look at October 17th on the calendar they think of you creating this godly man and say, “This is the day that the Lord has made (and made this guy); let us rejoice and be glad in it (Psalm 118:24).

Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights (James 1:17). Having this one as a beloved son, whose love never ends and whose prayers are always available to me is certainly a gift from above. Thank You for giving him to me.

Father in the days ahead please grant him the desires of his heart and fulfill all the plans You have for him (Psalm 20:4).  Command Your angels to guard him  in all his ways (Psalm 91:11) multiplying his days and adding years to his life.  (Proverbs 9:11) Guard his heart and mind as he continues to walk in Your ways.

He seeks You, Father, in all his roles as a husband, father, son, brother, family member, employee, coach, church member and friend to many.  There is such comfort in that as a mother. Each of us who knows him counts it a privilege to call him by those titles.

Because of Your great love for him, may he be joyful always, pray without ceasing and continue to give thanks in all things as he so readily does.
(1 Thessalonians 5:16-18)

When others see that he is loving, happy, peaceful, patient, kind, good, faithful, gentle, and full of self-controlled, may they recognize that it is God’s Spirit in him and desire to be filled up in the same manner.  (Galatians 5:22)

Continue to give him a sound mind, clothed him with strength, dignity, courage and compassion. Allow him to laugh without fear to the future for he knows he is Yours!

Bless and keep my child, make Your face to shine upon him and be gracious onto him;  lift up your countenance upon him and give him peace.  (Numbers 6:24-26)

Thank You God, for all those who have celebrated with him this weekend. As he celebrates and reflects on his 40 years today, may he recognizing how well he is loved and may he shout to the Lord and break out in praise and sing for joy!  (Psalm 98:4)
In Jesus’ name, Amen!
