Talk About It

This is one photo I should hold out for a "Make 'Em Laugh"entry.

I love how this photo exemplifies things that are important to us to talk about, although I despise whisperers because what they have to say they usually feel isn't fitting to say in front of others.

I'm laughing now because my husband and I whisper a lot in the back of the church. 99% of the time it's us trying to remember someone's name.  If someone ever asks you to share what you are whispering about just say, I was wishing everyone knew that Jesus loves them!

There is a favorite young woman of mine who lives in our area.  I'd claim her as my daughter anytime. Her mother is deceased and she calls on me for motherly advice, knowing I will speak truth even if it's not what she wants to hear. She has a sibling with serious emotional needs who has been under a physicians care for some time, but meds don't seem to be working well.  This precious gal desperately wants to be able to fix her sibling, but the day to day dealings are wearing her down.

In a recent conversation we discussed how what this sibling really needs is Jesus and a growing faith. I've challenged this woman to ask her sibling to read scripture to her each day from a devotional book she had shared.  When she reached out to this week I inquired if the scripture share was happening. She replied, "Life has been crazy and we really haven't had time to talk about it."

That stirred in me a remembrance of an old song by Nicole C Mullen and I emailed my friend the link.

But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect.     1 Peter 3:15

Lyrics
Tell rich and poor in slavery The king has ordered a decreeRansom all captivity Ring the bells of libertyHe sacrificed his everything To buy us new identities
So every knee could bow Every tongue confess That Jesus our Lord is marvelous
So let the redeemed of the Lord say so Talk about it, say so, talk about itLet the redeemed of the Lord say so Talk about it
Bangladesh to Bangor Maine If you're talking about his nameGive him glory unashamed (His love is so exciting)Say it loud or quietly Nod your head or disagree
But every knee shall bow Every tongue confess That Jesus our Lord is marvelous
So let the redeemed of the Lord say so Talk about it, say so, talk about itLet the redeemed of the Lord say so Talk about it
