A friend was visiting Bible Study Fellowship and attended the discussion group  of which I am a member. Afterwards, I asked my friend what she thought. She said, "I think you are a bunch of Bible scholars, which I am not."  I chuckled, "We are NOT Bible scholars, we just all have the answer book. The answers to all the questions on the sheet can be found in your Bible."  There are personal application questions as well and those answers come from your heart and life experiences.

Let's all pray right now for people who do not regularly study God's Word to taste and see that the Lord is good and realize he gave us his Word in hopes everyone would read it. It is a treasure designed to be found.  There is no harm in seeking Him. His Word unlocks truth after truth for us!  Each truth is designed to set us free from the many things in this world that are a trap created to hold us captive from all God has for us now and forever.

While in another Bible study  (seeking the Lord because I am NOT a Bible scholar),  a friend said of the study we were doing..."I just am not getting anything from this. I do not know how to answer these questions."  One of the other ladies said, "Have you asked the Holy Spirit to guide you. He was given to us for that purpose."  The apprehensive lady took this advice and said the Word of God came alive for her!

A friend just had breast cancer surgery. On that day the Spirit promoted me to send her this song and tell her I was praying for her dreams during surgery. I prayed those dreams revealed beautiful things about God that were beyond her wildest dreams during that sleep.  Unimaginable things about His love for all creation.

Marriage Matters #1

One of life's deepest hurts is when the one you love is unfaithful. Forty years ago, I remember an older friend, whose wife had been unfaithful and left him for another man saying to me..."Boo, I hope you never experience having the person you love and are married to, living 8 blocks away loving someone else." Deep hurt. They divorced. The wife of another friend of ours was having an affair with a fellow church member and a neighbor of theirs who lived 5 blocks away. She moved in with this man and our friend said one evening he was walking by the house where they were living together and saw them sitting at a table having a candlelight dinner. Ugh. The torment. I've always said it would be aweful to find out the person you were married to and  loved deeply loved another.  Hmm. Are You Sinking... Being Tossed About?

  A text came in from our neighbor recently, on a cold blustery day, when I was home with a stomach bug and awful headache. He said, "My canoe blew off our dock and has floated over to your shore."  And I'm thinking..."And you want me to do what?" I explained my husband was at work, but could help in the afternoon. I went to the window and could see the boat being tossed back and forth along our shore line. One minute it was close to our main dock and the next the winds had shifted and it was 200 feet in the opposite direction.  What I then realized is it had been taking on water. A text came again that he was in his car and driving around to our property.  Climbing out of my night shirt, I put on warm ups, UGGS boots and a hooded coat and limped outside to see how I could help.
