But What If

One of our grandsons carved a Lego Pumpkin. This may be what my brain looks like to God.

My husband performed a funeral last week and we have another one tomorrow, so I guess I had caskets on my mind this morning. One of the widowers was talking about how expensive funeral costs are.  While brushing my teeth, my mind had drifted to the advance plans you can purchase from funeral homes to lock in costs, but I found myself saying to the Lord...

"But what if the rapture occurs, then that would have been wasted money?

Spitting out the toothpaste, I looked in the mirror in thought, "Lord, how to you handle all of our crazy thoughts?"

What is the last "But what if...?" statement you posed to the Lord?

We are always trying to figure things out when we should be remembering who God is and how if he can keep the earth turning and the sun, moons, stars and planets in the sky, he can be working all things together in a way that sees us safely home to heaven, whether our body rests in a casket or we get beamed up in the twinkling of an eye.

Praise the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ for the spiritual blessings that Christ has brought us from heaven! Before the world was created, God had Christ choose us to live with him and to be his holy and innocent and loving people. God was kind and decided that Christ would choose us to be God's own adopted children. God treated us with undeserved grace because of the Son he dearly loves, and so we should praise God.

Christ sacrificed his life's blood to set us free, which means our sins are now forgiven. Christ did this because of God's gift of undeserved grace to us. God has great wisdom and understanding, and by what Christ has done, God has shown us his own mysterious ways. Then when the time is right, God will do all he has planned, and Christ will bring together everything in heaven and on earthEphesians 1:3-10
