Serendipity

November 11
Wikipedia defines Serendipity this way: "when someone finds something that he wasn't expecting to find. The word has been voted as one of the ten English words that were hardest to translate in June 2004 by a British translation company. In the simplest of words, it means a "happy accident" or a "pleasant surprise".

A young woman who has been coming here the past couple weeks for encouragement found something yesterday. I am not sure what she was looking for, but she found Jesus and prayed, asking Him to come into her heart. W00t! Woot! It doesn't get better than that!

We have a Christian comedian coming in from California tonight who is performing at the Christian School where my husband is head master. What a pleasant surprise it would be if he was an excellent tile worker, dry waller, plumber, and painter and was elated to knock out the rest of our restoration work here on Saturday before his show!
Whew, looking over my prayer list, I'd like to see some serendipitous moments popping up in the lives on that list. They wouldn't really be serendipitous though would they, they'd be answered prayer!

While the verse below is a pleasant surprise for sinners, it is not a happy accident, it is a well thought out sacrifice for which we will be eternally grateful.

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16
