Jesus is Real and Approachable

I love drawing near to these two little ones.

"Come near to God, and he will come near to you. Clean up your lives, you sinners. Purify your hearts, you people who can't make up your mind."  James 4:8

There are some people who give off an air of being unapproachable.  Too big time, too busy, just can't be bothered.  They bother me! The same God made and loves us all.

I'm so thankful Jesus died for my sins and acts as the intercessory between God and me.

A friend was sharing about being in a resort beauty salon last year and a movie star came in to have her hair done. She entered with a hat, which had to be removed when she hit the shampoo bowl, but her dark glasses never left her face in hopes of not being recognized and approached by fans.

God is approachable every moment of every day. Some people just acknowledge him on Christmas and Easter, but He's right here and the real deal.

Did you ever read The Velveteen Rabbit, by Margery Williams?  The rabbit asks the toy horse that had become bald in patches because of being loved on so much, "What is real?"  The horse replies,
"Real isn't how you are made. It's a thing that happens to you. When a child loves you for a long time, not just to play with but really loves you, then you become real."

For some people baby Jesus is a once a  year toy they put in a manger scene, but they never come to love Jesus every day.  They never learn to approach Him and bask in the best "real" relationship on earth and in heaven.
