Spirit Lead Me- Worship-Day 12

Day 12 Worship Through Proclamation
Proclamation- a clear declaration of something.

This short two week study on worship has been one of my favorites.  I hope it has challenged you.
This last lesson enfolds a "Go Tell it on the Mountain" moment of instruction. What a great way to finish this topical study.

Often when discussing our personal proclamation of Jesus I express it this way...When there is a great sale at a store, a solution for VERTIGO, a way to get free hotel or airmails, an incredible cleaning product, we readily share these opportunities/solutions with others.  Y'all we know about free clothes of righteousness, a comfort to sustain us through all trials, a guaranteed free ticket to heaven, the ONE way to remove personal sin, yet we are hesitant to share with others.  Makes no sense.

"Worship is not an experience.
Worship is an act.
And this takes discipline.
We are to worship in spirit and in truth.
Never mind about the feelings.
We are to worship in spite of them."
She Reads Truth

Last night on Facebook several people posted gorgeous sunset photos.  I don't think one of them said, "Look what God did tonight!  He has done amazing things like this in my life as well.  Let me tell you..."  Okay, guess that's my personal Facebook challenge.

"In Reflections on the Psalms, C.S. Lewis said, 'I think we delight to praise what we enjoy because the praise not merely expresses but completes the enjoyment; it is its appointed consummation.' Expressing awe and wonder deepens our appreciation, and we are better for it. As Lewis also said, praise is inner-health made audible...
We see this life-giving, out-loud pattern of worship throughout Scripture. It starts by recognizing the power and presence of God. Then, we proclaim His goodness to others. In turn, we experience deeper meaning and joy ourselves...it is good for praise to bubble up from our hearts and for celebration to spill out of our mouths as we proclaim God and His creative work all around us. But, there’s more. This pattern of proclamation deepens as we also give voice to how God has touched us personally." SRT

Choose a translation and memorize Deuteronomy 32:3-4.
"For I will proclaim the name of the Lord; ascribe greatness to our God!
The Rock, his work is perfect, for all his ways are justice.
A God of faithfulness and without iniquity, just and upright is he."
ESV

"Join with me in praising the wonderful name of the Lord our God.
The Lord is a mighty rock, and he never does wrong.
God can always be trusted to bring justice."
CES
Now go tell of his goodness!  If it makes you nervous start with a stranger or a toddler!
